Hippo河马是只什么马？

Hippo河马英语国际测评挑战，始创于2012年。Hippo河马英语的宗旨在于以测评挑战的形式搭建世界各地的青少年沟通交流的桥梁，激励全球青少年突破自己，挖掘自己在学习探索英文知识中的无限潜能！

Hippo河马英语创始于意大利，风靡全球、距今已有10年举办历史、累计有来自超过50个国家和地区的10万余名青少年参与。

提到英语语言能力测评体系，大多数学生和家长首先想到的会是和出国升学直接相关联的IELTS雅思，TOEFL托福等考试。这类针对非母语人群进行的英语能力考试，是用以衡量学生的英语水平是否达到在国外生活、学习或工作的要求。

但对于更多希望提升语言水平的学生，衡量英文综合能力的维度不仅局限于听说读写，更多还在于语言实际运用能力、场景化理解、创新思维等多方面。基于此，各个国家创建了多套综合维度的语言测评参考体系，其中在全球范围最广为认可的是欧洲共同语言参考标准CEFR。

Hippo正是基于CEFR完整框架的测评挑战体系，也意味着它是适合全球所有英语为非母语学生的统一测评挑战体系。

面对更为开放、多元的知识世界，孩子们不仅要掌握不同的语言、学习学科知识，还要学会破壁，通过课内外活动提升沟通、演讲、竞技、适应新事物等多维能力，从而更从容地应对更大的挑战！

在语言学习的黄金期，哈罗海口支持学生们通过参加不同的语言教学活动学习到大量词汇，不断提升自身的语言能力，这些点点滴滴为他们在日常考试的游刃有余打下坚实基础。

哈罗海口三位一等奖获得者如果能够在晋级轮中获得一席之地，他们将有机会冲击在罗马举办的全球总决赛。学生的优异成绩充分展现了哈罗海口在英语教学中的卓越成功。我们也预祝三位一等奖获得者能够走上世界的舞台与全球学子角逐并取得成功！

In 2023, Harrow Haikou has become an authorised test centre for Hippo Olympiad, the unique international competition.

Our students can easily participate in this event and compete with 70,000 students from over 50 countries around the world for prestigious international challenge certificates and honorary awards!

On 22 April, the Hippo Olympiad China, the global (non-native) English assessment challenge for young people, came to an end with Harrow Haikou students taking home 27 prizes, including three First Prizes, four Second Prizes, eleven Third Prizes and nine Excellent Prizes.

First round：

•First Prize: ranking top 10%in Hippo Olympiad China

•Second Prize: ranking top 10%-25%in Hippo Olympiad China

•Third Prize: ranking top 25%-40%in Hippo Olympiad China

•Excellent Prize: ranking top 40%-60%in Hippo Olympiad China

About Hippo Olympiad

The Hippo English Language Olympiad was founded in 2012 with the aim of building bridges between young people from all over the world and inspiring them to break through and explore their potential in learning English!

It was founded in Italy with over 100,000 young people from over 50 countries and regions participating.

When it comes to English language assessment systems, most students and parents first think of the IELTS and TOEFL tests that are directly linked to studying abroad. These English language proficiency tests for non-native speakers are designed to measure whether a student"s English level meets the requirements for living, studying or working abroad.

However, for students who wish to improve their language skills, the dimensions of overall English language ability are not only about listening, speaking, reading, and writing, but also about practical language skills, scenario-based understanding and creative thinking. For this reason, various countries have created a number of comprehensive language assessment systems, the most widely recognised of which is the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Hippo is based on the full CEFR framework, which means that it is a unified assessment challenge for all non-native English-speaking students worldwide.

Faced with a more open and diverse world of knowledge, children not only have to master different languages and learn subject knowledge, but also learn to break down barriers and improve their ability to communicate, speak, compete and adapt to new things through activities inside and outside the classroom, so that they can better cope with bigger challenges!

During the students" prime language learning years, Harrow Haikou supports them to continuously improve their language skills by participating in different language activities, providing them with a solid foundation for their daily exams.

The three first-prize winners from Harrow Haikou will have the chance to hit the global finals in Rome, Italy if they are able to secure a place in the second round. The students" excellent results demonstrate Harrow Haikou"s outstanding success in teaching English. We also wish the three first-prize winners the best of luck as they take to the world stage and compete with students from around the globe!
