East China’s Jiangsu province is gearing up for the rice transplanting across the province by enlisting the help of agricultural black technologies. Let’s take a close look.
In the high standard agricultural base in Bacheng Town, Kunshan City, the driverless rice transplanters were shuttling back and forth in the field, leaving rows of seedlings neatly transplanted. The unmanned rice transplanter is equipped with a Beidou navigation and driving system. When the vehicle terminal completes positioning and parameter settings, the system automatically plans the optimal transplanting path and carries out refined transplanting operations in the field while technicians can also remotely control the start and stop of the machine through their mobile phones.
“Compared with the traditional rice transplanter, the unmanned rice transplanter can continuously transplant rice as long as the route is set, reducing the labor cost by half, and standardizing the row spacing and depth so as to maximize the survival rate of rice seedlings in the later stage,” Feng Jian, Agricultural Land Stock Cooperative, Bacheng, Kunshan, said.
In Zhengqing Family Farm, Yandan Town, Jianhu County, transplanting seedlings have got underway in 7000 mu of paddy fields. According to the head of the farm, 96 sets of agricultural machinery were kept busy working in the fields by transplanting 400 mu of rice seedlings per day.
“According to the current progress, we expect to complete the rice transplanting before June 28th, which is three to four days earlier than usual,” said Xu Yangjian, Head of Family Farm, Yandan Town, Jianhu County.
The shortened time for transplanting rice seedlings has benefited from the farm"s investment in mechanized agriculture over the years. This year, the farm has invested another 700000 yuan in the intelligent transformation of agricultural machinery in a bid to achieve full automatic control ranging from automatic seedling raising to unmanned rice transplanter, from pest monitoring to UAV plant protection.
The farm has also introduced scientific and technological means such as large-scale rotary tiller, combine harvester and automatic grass cutter to carry out mechanized production throughout the whole process of agricultural planting, reducing labor by 80% and saving labor costs by more than 200000 yuan every year.
